HORSCH modernises the Maestro family with the CV and RV line

The highlight of the new Maestro CV is the possibility to use a central hopper for seed and fertiliser or, as before, a large fertiliser hopper and individual seed tanks. With regard to the fixing of the seed units spacing, HORSCH opted for a flexible solution to be able to vary the number of rows and the spacing.

Finally, the machine is equipped with a completely new metering device that can easily be adjusted and that works with the usual high accuracy.

The metering device is called AirVac. The vacuum metering device that is a completely new development works with a scraper, that don’t has to be adjusted. You only have to choose the corresponding metering disc which reduces the handling considerably. It also allows increase the range of the standard single grain range can handle (maize, sugar beet, sunflower, soya and rape). In the future, the metering of further crops, for example varieties of beans and peas, will be possible. This guarantees an enormous flexibility. The metering unit is still driven electrically to be able to use technologies like SectionControl and VariableRate for every individual row as usual.

The seed body itself is revised. The focus was on the highest stability and a high hydraulic coulter pressure that has proven its worth before. It is connected to the main frame with a clamping profile to be able to alter the number of rows in an easy and uncomplicated way from 12 to 8 – which was a central requirement from the customers. The fertiliser is applied via a single disc fertiliser coulter the depth of which can be controlled separately and which, among others, has its advantages on heavy, sticky soils. The fertiliser coulter is attached to the row unit and thus the row spacings can be modified easily.

All other features – like the variability of the press wheels – are kept. The well-proven principle of one seed tank per row was maintained. The fertiliser supply is carried out via a pressurised hopper, e.g. the HORSCH Partner 2000 FT.

This is the central difference to the Maestro CV. It, too, is available with one seed tank per row, but now also, as known from the large Maestro SW, with a central tank for fertiliser and seed. This technology is called MTS - Main Tank Supply. The capacity of the central tank is 3,000 l for fertiliser and 800 l for seed. If the central tank is used, the capacity amounts to 3,000 l and 70 l of seed per row. In addition to the 8- and 12-row version, the Maestro CV is also available as a 9-row version.
